A delicious way to enjoy leftover brisket, combining tender brisket with barbecue sauce and gooey cheese on crispy Texas toast.

Ingredients

  • Leftover brisket
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Onions
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Texas toast
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Begin by caramelizing the onions in a pan over medium heat until they are golden brown.
  2. In a separate pan, warm up the leftover brisket and mix it with the barbecue sauce.
  3. Butter one side of each slice of Texas toast.
  4. Place one slice of toast, buttered side down, in a heated skillet.
  5. Layer with brisket, caramelized onions, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Top with another slice of toast, buttered side up.
  7. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, flipping once.
  8. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

Serve warm with a side of pickles, potato chips, or a simple salad. For the best flavor, use fresh brisket or experiment with different cheeses.
