A classic, rich, and creamy homemade Alfredo sauce that elevates any pasta dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 2 cloves garlic (finely minced)
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese (Do not use pre-shredded)
  • 1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper (or to taste)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown.
  3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it starts to thicken.
  4. Reduce the heat to low. Gradually add the freshly grated Parmesan cheese, whisking constantly until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is perfectly smooth.
  5. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. If desired, stir in the chopped fresh parsley.
  6. Serve immediately over your favorite pasta or dish.

Notes

Always use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best texture and flavor. Adjust seasoning to your preference.
