A hearty and comforting dish featuring layers of potatoes, seasoned beef, and cheesy goodness, topped with a creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup milk (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Spread the seasoned beef over the potatoes, then layer the remaining potatoes on top.
  6. Mix sour cream (or Greek yogurt) with milk until smooth, then pour over the potatoes and beef.
  7. Top with shredded cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can reheat in the oven or microwave.
