A delightful dish featuring crispy, golden topping paired with tender halibut fillets, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 halibut fillets (6 oz each, skinless)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise or Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 3 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or baking dish.
  2. Pat the halibut fillets completely dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and pepper and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Combine in a small bowl the panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, melted butter, and olive oil. Mix until well combined.
  4. Brush a thin layer of mayonnaise or Dijon mustard over the top surface of each halibut fillet. Firmly press the panko mixture onto the tops, creating a thick, even layer.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque, flakes easily with a fork, and the crust is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with a lemon wedge and extra fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider adding crushed nuts to the panko mixture or experimenting with different herbs like thyme or basil.
