Ingredients
Scale
9 lasagna noodles
1 pound ground beef
2 cups marinara sauce
15 ounces ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, then drain excess fat. Add marinara sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Mix ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl until well combined.
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Layer 3 noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, a layer of mozzarella, and another layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layers, ending with noodles and meat sauce on top. Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Let it cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve.
Notes
For extra nutrition, consider adding vegetables like spinach or mushrooms. You can also swap the meat with a meat alternative for a vegetarian version.
