Delicious creamy pasta with seasoned steak, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak (cut into thin bite-sized strips)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb rigatoni or penne pasta
  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 23 tsp Cajun seasoning (to taste)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions in salted, boiling water. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. While the pasta cooks, season the steak strips with salt, pepper, and 1 tsp of Cajun seasoning.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 1-2 minutes per side until browned. Remove the steak and set it aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Cook for 4-5 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour in the heavy cream and remaining Cajun seasoning. Bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and melted.
  6. Add the drained pasta and the seared steak (with juices) back to the skillet. Toss to combine. If needed, thin the sauce with a splash of reserved pasta water.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan.

Notes

Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning to fit your spice preference. For a lighter option, use whole wheat pasta and reduce the amount of heavy cream.
