Butter Toffee Pretzels are the perfect blend of salty and sweet, making for a crunchy and delicious snack that’s easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz mini pretzels (one full bag)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the mini pretzels in a single, even layer over the parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Once boiling, continue to cook and stir for exactly 3 minutes.
  3. Immediately pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the pretzels on the baking sheet. Use a spatula to gently spread it out, ensuring all the pretzels are coated.
  4. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5 minutes. The toffee will be bubbly.
  5. Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool for 1-2 minutes. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the hot toffee. Let them sit for 5 minutes to melt.
  6. Use an offset spatula to spread the melted chocolate into a smooth, even layer. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt while the chocolate is still wet.
  7. Let the Butter Toffee Pretzels cool completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Once firm, break the candy into bite-sized pieces.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best taste. Make sure to stir the toffee mixture constantly to prevent it from burning.
